I keep seeing references to "commingled recycling facilities must be able to provide project-specific diversion rates or an average diversion rate for the facility that is regulated by the local or state authority." I'm trying to find where that lives officially. I don't see it in the April 5th 2016 "current version" LEED V4 BD&C MR: Const & Demo Waste Mgmt credit description. I looked through the addenda. I am only now getting up to speed on V4, so maybe it's obvious to everyone else... Thank you for any help. I'm also particularly in any info/experience on whether this is being "enforced", if any AHJ's are doing good enforcement of this, etc.

Hi Magdalena,It's very difficult to get 2pts these days. I usually only see it on Waste Minimization with commercial interiors projects now. You can substitute v4.1 for any credit that you wish at your discretion. Hopefully, you are already doing for several beneficial credits like Low Emitting, Surrounding Density (for Walkscore if that helps you) and others. Good luck.
Thank you Michelle,I have one last question (I think, it's my last question :))If I go with v4 can I still have the goal of 75% in the WM Plan, or should I state 50% from the beginning? I do plan on having one separate container for cardboard at the end of the job. I guess my question is if I should plan for a minimum 50% or 75% to get the one point. If I plan for 75% and fail to reach it, will 1 point be awarded and vice versa if I plan 50% but reach the 75% and the streams will I get 2pts?
Hi Magdalena, Sure you can still target 75% and hope for the best. If you only make 50% but have 3 streams you will still get one point.
