NC-2009 IDc1:Innovation in Design

Pursuing EBOM IEQc2.4: Daylight and Views as NC ID credit

In our LEED 2009 NC project, can we pursue EBOM IEQc2.4: Daylight and Views, (Using Option 2 Dayligting) as an Innovation in Design credit even though a similar credit already exists in the NC rating system? We weren't able to meet the Views requirements under the NC rating system, but could meet the EBOM requirements which don't require as great of a percentage of regularly occupied areas to comply. Our building is an existing historic building undergoing interior renovations and a small circulation space addition.

Janene, that would not be possible. An ID credit can't be already covered by the LEED rating system. Selecting another rating system with weaker requirements wouldn't cut it with USGBC.
