NC-v4 WEc4:Water metering

process water - restaurant?

We have a New construction project - offices with a restaurant on the groud floor. Does anyone know if water use for the purpose of the restaurant can be considered process water?

Agata, I would review the credit language and see how this fits your project. According to this credit, an entire space like a restaurant is not typically viewed as process water, but specific functions used by the restaurant might be.

Agnieszka Szydlowska, USGBC has published a new resource for project teams: the LEED Guide to Water Metering: https://www.usgbc.org/articles/new-project-team-resource-leed-guide-water-metering https://www.usgbc.org/resources/leed-guide-water-metering?utm_source=website&utm_medium=article&utm_campaign=leed-resources I do recommend it for further Water Metering info, this free downloadable guide shares tips for LEED project teams. Introducing key concepts and resources, as well reviewing rating system requirements for water metering, the new guide uses an example project to break down the submetering strategies recognized in LEED. It also addresses frequently asked questions from project teams. Building owners, LEED project team members and facility operators and managers will find this guide helpful in understanding how submetering strategies can support effective water management throughout a building's life cycle.
