I've been trying to communicate with Arc with no luch. We have Arc Essentials which supossedly could help us determining our potential score. Our building is industrial manufacturing, therefore water and energy include process water and process energy. Does anyone know what role does process water play in the score? How is it accounted for? Thanks!

Hi Jenni, It depends the quantity of process water as well as the source. If municipally supplied and has higher portion than the other uses it will have negative impact. We also have faced this problem with some of our projects in manufacturing facilities. Unfortunately the response we got from the LEED coaches is we need to include the process water. Even though it is used for process not as building service or occupant use, they don't usually allow to remove that part. However, in the production process if the product itself takes water then they allow to remove that portion, such as drinks, liquid products, liquid medicine etc. But you should always get a written communication to confirm that before going forward since these are project specific interpretations and may change for different projects.
