LEED Recertification: When and How

Performance period length- Recertifying under a newer version

Our project achieved LEED-EBOM v2009 certification in 2013. We are now attempting LEED-EBOM recertification under LEED v4. I am wondering how long the performance period is when moving to a newer version?

I have heard 3 months, as well as the traditional 12 months. A 3-month performance period could make sense when switching versions, as some of the credits and tracking metrics are more robust under v4. I would appreciate any advice and/or documentation that explicitly states the performance periods for this situation.

Thanks!

Anna, I would start by reviewing how LEED v4 looks at Establishment vs. Performance, which was a major change in this version. This and the structuring of the performance periods is covered in a really good section in the intro to the LEED EBOM reference guide -- page 12 in the version I'm looking at.
