EBOM-v4 MRc3:Purchasing - facility maintenance and renovation

Is a Non-Slip Flooring Treatment Applicable for credit calculations?

I am looking to see if a non-slip flooring treatment would be eligible to be included in the LEED Calculations and requirements for this credit. This is a unique scenario because I do not believe it would be considered a wet-applied product or a permanent coating.

  • Surestep is a non-slip flooring treatment.  It is a chemical treatment and not a coating.
  • The liquid is 100% removed once the treatment is completed.
  • This processes increases the dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) above the ANSI A326.1 standard of 0.42 so that the floor is safe even when liquids (water, etc) are on the floor.
  • The treatment is completed annually.
  • There are only 3 ingredients:
    • Alcohols, C9 - 11, ethoxylated CAS# 68439-46-3;
    • Ethanol, 2-butoxy CAS# 111-76-2;
    • Hydrogen Flouride CAS# 7664-39-3

Thank you for guidance with this.

Andy, seems like this is a consumable that would fall better under the Purchasing—ongoing credit.
