I thought I had seen a recent post or article that some MEP materials could now be included in the materials calculation; ductwork or piping for example. Now I can't locate the reference. Has anyone else seen this? Is it a v4 issue? Can it apply to 2009 projects? Thanks.

Peter—I am so sorry to have missed your post. I should have responded sooner.
In LEEDv4, it is optional to include MEP in the material tallies for MR Credits 3 through 7, but CI-2009 still only permits you to include materials and costs from CSI-MasterFormat-2004 Divisions 3 through 10, Division 12 Furniture, and Sections 31.60.00, 32.10.00, 32.30.00, & 32.90.00.

If MEP materials are excluded then acustical insulation of Fan Powered Terminals should also be excluded, is that correct?

Agata—CSI MasterFormat-2004 classifies HVAC Equipment Insulation in Section 23.07.16, so it would be excluded. However, acoustical treatments for architectural applications are in Division 09, so they would be included.
