The EQ credit Interior Lighting – Option 1 - Lighting Control states that “switches or manual controls must be located in the same space as the controlled luminaires. A person operating the controls must have a direct line of sight to the controlled luminaires”
Our lighting design team is proposing an automated system that does not have wall light switches, the lighting fixtures are controlled via a remote control device (just like a TV remote control). Since it is a portable device, does it qualify as an acceptable manual control that is located in the same space as the controlled luminaires?

I would suspect that LEED will allow this.
In our past office - it was LEED Platinum and we did achieve this point with portable lighting control devices.
