Healthcare-v2009 WEc1:Water efficient landscaping - no potable water use or no irrigation

Manual/ Automatic irrigation required

I am working on an Outpatient clinic in Riyadh, KSA. As per the climate of this region, water is must for the landscaping. Irrgation required for the landscaping as per Option-1 should be automatic or manual? Might be there will be very limited trees and planters which could be irrigated manually with very less water and no need for automatic irrigation. Other thing is landscaping on the outside is the only requirement under this credit or planters on the inside of the building should also contribute. Thanks,

Babar, the choice between manual and automatic should be made by the project—LEED doesn't dictate that.As far as including interior planters, this is not specifically addressed in LEED requirements. I would recommend including them if they are significant and not just some simple potted plants.

My thoughts are on how interior gardens for SSc9 might wrap this kind of irrigation into LEED HC. That is a good question for the GBCI.
