CS-2009 SSc4.4:Alternative Transportation—Parking Capacity

Low Emitting & FEV v Parking Capacity

In the reviewers comments a query has been raised that the parking space allocated to demonstrate Car Pooling is not a preferred parking space - the two closest to entrance to the building are designated for fuel efficient vehicles with electric charging points (and as i understand it cannot be double counted) the next closest has been identified as the designated car pool space. There are only 6 in a basement car park (2 designated for disabled access) so all have excellent access into the building. Question: how can you have preferred parking spaces for Parking Capacity when they are already designated? Also I see on LEED User that there is an option to use a public car share program for SS4.3 can this also be used for SS4.4? After all it is reducing the number of vehicles on the road. many thanks

Vivien, I would ask the reviewer for clarification of their comment. Your logic seems correct.Car sharing is not an option for this credit, although you could incorporate it into a comprehensive management plan for an EP point.
