LEED v4 Exam Dates on track and test specifications release

Tristan - Please ask if USGBC still feels that the new exam will be on the schedule they predicted in September (http://www.usgbc.org/articles/leed-professional-credential-exams-feature-leed-v4-material). At that time they said, “The LEED Professional Credential exams for the LEED Green Associate and LEED AP with specialty designations will feature LEED v4 material beginning in late Spring 2014.” Also, see if they will tell you about a date for when the LEED v4 test specifications will be available so candidates can know what to study. This is what is listed for GA currently for v2009 - http://www.usgbc.org/credentials/leed-ga/prepare.

Michelle, the people I talked with at USGBC were not wanting to commit to a date for the exam changeover, or release of exam specs. I think they are generally on track for spring, though.There is a whole process of testing the exam questions with real people, seeing what the scores are, calibrating, and only then is the exam ready. As it was explained to me, until they know what the body of questions are, they don't know what the specs are.Which doesn't totally make sense to me because they have to know the questions were drawn from.

Tristan - Thanks for this update. Maybe your inquiries lit a fire because USGBC posted an update yesterday to the original September posting about the credentialing exams. Erin Emery Hartz’s post now says the new exams based on LEED v4 will begin on June 30, 2014 and the last day to take the current exams based on LEED 2009 is June 15, 2014. Other nuggets of information include notice that project experience will be tested during the LEED AP exam and yet proof of LEED project experience at the time of application is NO longer required. An interesting turn of events. Limited additional information can be found here - http://www.usgbc.org/articles/leed-professional-credential-exams-feature-leed-v4-material. However, no word on test specifications.

On February 7th a new post on the credentialing exams was made - http://www.usgbc.org/articles/leed-v4-credential-exams-coming-june-2014. It provides more info on the test contents including project experience. In the comments, Erin Emery Hartz committed to March 15, 2014 for the test specifications in her response to my question.
