We are interested in getting LEED NC/MR for a major interior renovation project in six identical three story tall apartment buildings on a single site. I read somewhere that the buildings have to be at least four stories tall to be eligible. Is there any validity to this? Thank you!

Lance, I recommend thaty ou review the LEED rating system selection guidelines. This would strongly encourage you to do LEED for Homes, but allow you to do LEED-NC if you want to. LEED for Homes is probably more appropriate.

I submitted an inquiry to GBCI about a similar situation. We have a potential project in Mexico that consisted of 7, three-story condo units that wanted to pursue LEED certification. As LEED for Homes is not available in Mexico, we asked if they may be able to pursue NC. We were initially told this was acceptable by a customer care advisor, but then were later told that a NC certification was not possible. Long story short, the final ruling was as follows, "due to the nature of your project, Technical Customer Service deems that it is very unlikely to be possible to certify your project under NC as low-rise residential projects have no approved referenced standards for certian prerequisites & credits in the NC rating system (e.g. EA Pr.2). Unfortunately, the NC rating system is only applicable to residential buildings of 4 or more habitable stories." It sounds like this ruling may apply to your situation as well - sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Hi Brooks,
It is interesting to know that multi-campus has been available for sometime now. I was told that there are no multi campus projects until recently when 2010 was released. I intended to apply our project last year for a multi campus but we were told by our LEED consultant that the multi campus rating systems is not available until 3rd qr of last year. I was wondering when did you start using MC 2005 and which project if you dont mind.
