LEED certification for part(s) of a hospital--op. rooms v. gar.?

We are working with an existing hospital that would like to become LEED certified, but would like to LEED certify certain defined areas that are being renovated first--like the operating rooms. Is that possible? Our understanding is that the hospital garage which is integral to the building cannot be LEED certified. Correct? Would garage LED lighting improvements count toward overall hospital LEED certification credits?

Robert, see MPR3. You should include the parking garage if it is integral to the function of the building. Cordoning off specific rooms is not likely to make sense.
