LEED ACP Pilot Credits

I'm in search of anyone who's done a LEED ACP Pilot Credit. It's unclear to me whether using one of these pathways replaces the way the base prereq or credit would function in the rating system being used by a project seeking certification or if it's a strategy to achieve Innovation in Design credits only. The documentation I've been able to find via USGBC's website has been less than clear.

Allison, it's my definite understanding that in the case of ACP pilot credits, they replace your achievement of the base prereq/credit, and don't count within the IN category. If you're seeing contradictory info, please post it here and I'll review it, though.
