We're working on a project where in order to comply with local noise regulation requirements, the Proposed design required indoor air handling equipment with fully ducted exhaust/intake air connection with sound attenuation. This results in increased static pressure to the design system fans where the Baseline System 7 fan calculations would not take this into account. We are submitting an exceptional calculation to apply this increased static pressure to the Baseline as it would be required for these units just it is for the Proposed to meet the local noise regulation requirements. We are applying this additional static pressure on an ESP/CFM basis for each Baseline unit. As the LEED review can be fairly unpredictable I wanted to reach out and see if anyone has had any experience with such items and could provide any suggestions or insights on the subject. Thanks in advance!
