Does anyone know why LEED requirements are for illuminance ratios, while WELL and ANSI/IES for Office Light talk about luminance ratios?
I guess this is related to how LEED separates reflectance requirements and illuminance ratio requirements. If you have reflective surfaces, your luminance will be kept high.
Any thoughts on this?

Hi Dionisio,
My understanding from the GBCI is that they had considered allowing for luminance to be measured instead of or in addition to illuminance and had landed with illuminance because luminance is considered generally harder and more costly to measure. I think you might be able to meet the requirements through a CIR or alternative compliance route for luminance if you were interested in pursuing that path.
Thanks,
Lauren
