NC-2009 SSc4.2:Alternative Transportation—Bicycle Storage and Changing Rooms

ID 10209 Mixed-use Building with office not residential use

Our project is a 122,900 sf building for a single office user. There is 5,000 sf of retail space at the ground floor, currently not leased. The rating system is NC v 2009. Will we be required to provide showers for the retail space? The project provides unsecure bike racks for the retail space, and bike racks and showers for the office user in a secure location. Will ID#10209 apply to this mixed-use building with office space? The formal inquiry was based upon a mixed-use building with residential space comprising 90% of the gross floor area. However, this is also a mixed-use building and the percentage and size of the main use is also 90%. Have there been any updates to this Interpretation?

I'd say you'd need to provide showers for retail employees, yes.
