Schools-NC-v4 EQc2:Low emitting materials

Hot-mopped asphalt

Hi all,

Hoping someone can shed some light on what happens if hot-mopped asphalt is used on a LEED v4 schools project, whether inadvertantly or because of specific site considerations.

Hot mopped ashphalt is prohibited. But, if used, what happens? Is one of the LEM points forfeited? Are all of the LEM points forfeited? Is it prohibited, but a requirement without enforcement?

I see that USGBC has more clearly defined "hot-mopped asphalt" in addenda 100002250, but this doesn't address what happens when a non-compliant product is used.

Thanks, John M

the v4 Ref Manual says "...are prohibited and do not count towards total percentage compliance..." so I would heed the "....do not count..." qualifier, and as long as the local building codes do not prohibit its use.
