I haven't been part of this group in a while, but I'm excited to have rejoined recently. Some of you know that I joined HMC last year as Chief Impact Officer. I oversee design, sustainability, research, and communications for the firm, which has 300 people in 6 offices in California. We were founded in 1940 with a mission to serve communities, and we work exclusively in markets with explicit ties to the community (education, healthcare, civic, etc.). I love it here and believe I've found my home.
Our Sustainability Director, Eera Babtiwale, is an SDLer and an incredible human being. After nearly two decades with the firm, she has decided to leave to join a client and conquer new frontiers. Exciting opportunity for her, but it's a big loss for us.
