Hello to all,
My question is a little bit general, so Ι address more to your sense. So I have an Airport Terminal. The customer wants to achieve a Silver certification. At this point I am trying to set up the checklist- scenario. Also to identify which points could be achievable. Due to the fact that the LEED boundary must include the runways and all parking lots which are related to the terminal building I have a really big non – roof area. So I think this point “Heat Island reduction” will be not possible. Do you know, if there are any exemptions for airport projects?

I mean, are the non roof areas like arpon or runways excluded from the non roof measures of Heat island reduction credit? I mean shading in those areas is impossible....to use materials with high reflectance seems also impossible.
thanks

I am not aware of any exceptions for airports. Not all credits are a fit for all project types, for better or worse!
