NC-2009 EAp1:Fundamental Commissioning of Building Energy Systems

Graywater System

We have a graywater system in our building and I'm wondering if this would be subject to Fundamental Commissioning. Any thoughts?

Sandra, check the list of systems required to be commissioned under the credit language above. It's a pretty straightforward list, and does not include graywater, so I would say you don't need to include it.

I would agree that it is not listed, but this kind of system can have some complexity, and at a minimum, I would recommend having this system commissioned as good practice. We recently did a large rainwater capture system for flushing, and recommended to the owner that the system be included in the Enhanced Commissioning for the project. In general, this is a minimum listing, and there is value in expanding where complex systems are involved.
