I have a LEED project that includes three buildings and a large constructed wetlands, however there is an existing building smack in the middle of them. How do I go about defining the LEED project boundary considering this existing building? Do I exclude it? How? Can you exclude an island within the LEED project boundary? Or gerrymander around it? Does the LEED project boundary have to be contiguous or can it be two separate plots? Or can I just note it as an existing building "not in the scope of the leed project" and ignore it? This will affect all kinds of considerations such as hardscape calculations, roof heat island, etc etc.
