Hello,
I am currently working on a project and we are targeting LEED ND. As part of LEED ND, one of the buildings will be LEED NC certified. Currently, the LEED NC site does not include a parking lot, although the parking lot serves the building. I am hoping to use this parking lot for Heat Island Reduction points, because it is underground.
If the parking lot directly serves the LEED NC building, but is not part of its LEED boundary, can it count towards the Heat Island Effect credit?
According to the reference manual: 'Facilities (such as parking lots, bicycle storage, shower/changing facilities, and/or on-site renewable energy)
that are outside of the LEED project boundary may be included in certain prerequisites and credits if they directly serve the LEED project and are not double-counted for other LEED projects."
Could I remove this parking lot from the LEED ND site boundary to count it towards the LEED NC boundary?

Nate, I think you could count this in your LEED-NC boundary and toward that project.I am not very familiar with how LEED-ND boundaries are set up, but from what I understand I don't see why you would need to remove it from the LEED-ND boundary, since the LEED-ND project includes the NC project. The key issue from NC's point of view is that you not count the same site amenity toward multiple NC projects.
