LEED Addenda #10231 (https://www.usgbc.org/leedaddenda/10231) effectively stated that extensive roof systems could not count towards SSc5.1 Site Development-Protect or Restore Habitat for v3 - LEED 2009 projects because "Generally, green roofs with less than six varieties of sedum are considered a monoculture and cannot be used to earn this credit." Fast forward to LEED v4/v4.1 the credit language has been modified to state "Roofs can be either extensive or intensive systems." For v4/v4.1 projects, if the sedum mix blanket on an extensive green roof has a variety of adaptive succulents can this area count as groundcover in contribution to habitat area for this credit, provided that project-wide we are meeting all of the vegetation requirements?
