I was wondering if someone can help here. Working on a v4 C&S 5 story building. Some of the tenant space on each floor is laboratory space (40% approximately of each floor). In these spaces the occupants require specific light levels for their tasks and introducing daylight could have negative impact. Can these spaces be excluded from the counted regularly occupied area for meeting the dayight requirements? (asking for either Option 1 and Option 2 for the Daylight credit).

A space, such as laboratory, where sunlight would be detrimental to the activity of the space can be excluded from the calculations. It very common with labs. You need to provide a narrative explaining why daylight would be detrimental to the activity of the space.
