Embodied Carbon calculator for water

Has anyone come across any (embodied) carbon emissions calculator for water?  Perhaps per region/state?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know of any "off-the-shelf" solutions, but I am building one for use in Tennessee and can coach you on the data needed to build one. I sit on the USGBC WE TAG and this is a hot topic as we roll into the future versions of LEED and explore the water-carbon-nexus ... so I wanted to try it for myself to see how rigorous it is to connect with the "right" person in the water dept and what data that they could share.

Erica - I've been toying with how we could include the water carbon footprint in our tracking of utility use for projects and would LOVE any knowledge sharing you are able to provide. Thanks! Angi

At the 2022 Water Conservation Showcase, Heather Cooley presented a water/carbon calculator.  It was super thorough and not sure if it's public but that would be a good lead!  She's part of the Pacific Institue and they have a bunch of tools here https://pacinst.org/online-tools/   (not sure there is exactly what you're looking for).  Good luck and let us konw where you land! Cheers, Orrin

Thank you so much Orin!  I did attend 2022 Water Conservation Showcase but lost my note on whom presented the topics.  My recollecitn is that the excel calculator she presented was developed for California (CPUC) and it stops at energy, not carbon emission. https://www.cpuc.ca.gov/industries-and-topics/electrical-energy/demand-side-management/energy-efficiency/water-energy-nexus-programs I will try to get connected with Heather Cooley though and report back!  Thanks again.   Erica and Angi- Please let me know when you meet. (teresa.jan@multi.studio) I would like to seek tools beyond California, and also get your feedback on my assumptions.

Hi! I'm following this thread as well and have reached out to a few gov. colleagues to see if there is anything for WA state/EPA.  I'll keep you posted if I hear anything.  Steph Absher Construction, stephanie.gowing@absherco.com

Following as well. There's certainly momentum and interest on this topic!
