Noriko, if I understand your question correctly—the space is the square footage of the room(s) in question.

It would be the space on the inside of the walls. There has been confusion on this issue because of the information required information i believe PLF 2 which requires the overall floorplate size, which will be a different number then that used in EQc 8.1 and 8.2. The table 8.1 in PLF 3 asks for the regularly occupied space which will only be used for those two credits.

Funnily enough, I just got a reviewer comment back on this. PIF3 specifically asks for regularly occupied GROSS sf values. Views is calculated on inside of walls, which would be NET sf values. And yet, the GBCI reviewer is asking why the numbers do not match up between the two forms. Any help here?

Kristen, I would send a project team inquiry stating that views is based on net and not gross and then ask if the reviewer still wants you to revise your numbers. This would save you some time on this. Also, if you are still earning the views credit whether you use gross or net, i would also point this out too in the inquiry.

Thanks, Todd. I'll try that on this specific project, but this is probably the 45th or 50th LEED project I've certified under v3 (not counting over 200 Volume projects). It has ALWAYS been net sf for the views calc, so I don't know why I'm still getting this comment from GBCI. Do they not realize the PIF3 form specifically says "regularly occupied GROSS floor area"?

You must have gotten a trainee reviewer and this is why i always include a narrative to explain the difference in the values.
