Is there document that lists which credits are "design" credits and which are "construction" credits, for any of the rating systems?

The only way we've found to tell now is to hover over the credit name (in v3) or credit number (in v3) in LEED Online and a tag pops up saying whether it's construction or design.

Rebecca's way works but there is a way to get a list without using LEED Online. In late 2009, USGBC recognized that this vital information was missing from the newly published 2009 Reference Guides. Via Reference Guide Correction ID #100000296 - https://www.usgbc.org/content/ad-100000296, USGBC issued a Design or Construction Phase Submittal related resource - https://www.usgbc.org/resources/design-or-construction-phase-submittal-a..., which outlines the credits by phase. (But even though this Correction is listed BD+C, they actually issued a table for ID+C - https://www.usgbc.org/Docs/Archive/General/Docs8587.pdf.)
So, in August 2011, they updated this Correction by issuing a new one - https://www.usgbc.org/content/ad-100001017 with this related resource - https://www.usgbc.org/resources/design-or-construction-phase-submittal-a... is the ultimate link to the PDF for BD+C - https://www.usgbc.org/Docs/Archive/General/Docs8598.pdf.
USGBC carried through on this useful list by including one in the v4 Reference Guides. For BD+C, see Table 2. Credit Attributes under Quick Reference in the Getting Started section.

You're welcome Eric. FYI: Here is the December 2009 ID+C 2009 Reference Guide Correction - https://www.usgbc.org/content/ad-100000007.

Hmm. . . for some reason all the LEED v2009 links are showing up as "page not found" . . .

Some of the spreadsheet based LEED 2009 score cards had a little d or c beside the credit. Not sure if the ones on the USGBC web site still have that or not.

Eric - I haven't gotten the full hang of the new LEEDuser interface yet. It is picking up the period after the URL as part of the URL unless I make a specific hyperlink. I was able to fix my earlier post from today but can't edit earlier posts on this discussion. Just copy the URL without the period at the end and it will get you there.
Here's the one for BD+C - https://www.usgbc.org/Docs/Archive/General/Docs8598.pdf.
And Marcus is right, the Detailed Checklist (multi-page) worksheet for LEED 2009 checklists has the lowercase d (for Design) or uppercase C (for Construction). Here's the link to BD+C 2009 checklist - https://www.usgbc.org/resources/new-construction-v2009-checklist-xls.

Hi Michelle! I've tried removing the periods, and extra characters after "...pdf" but the link still doesn't work.
I got one link to work (https://www.usgbc.org/resources/design-or-construction-phase-submittal-a...) but then when I click "download" it says "requested page could not be found". That's obviously on USGBC's end, but it would be nice to see what you are referencing.

Hi Lyle - Hope you are well! These seem to be working for me this morning including going to to https://www.usgbc.org/resources/design-or-construction-phase-submittal-addenda-12022009 and clicking the download button, which re-directs to https://www.usgbc.org/Docs/Archive/General/Docs8587.pdf.
Below are the unadulterated URLs:

https://www.usgbc.org/Docs/Archive/General/Docs8598.pdf
Does this help?

Thanks, Michelle. The links weren't working for me in Firefox, but I got them to work in IE. Then I tried them again in Firefox, and they DID work. So.... I'm in the Twilight Zone??

No - the USGBC Zone - just kidding. The links didn't work for me on the first try in IE either.
