NC-v4 MRc5:Construction and demolition waste management

Definition of Construction Waste

Dear All,

My question: every waste generated on the construction site is considered construction waste?

I mean specifically the waste generated by the workers for their personal needs, beverage cans, sandwich and other goods packaging etc.

By local definition it is communal waste and not belongs to the construction waste category.

Obviously this is minimal compare to the "real" construction waste and there are even selective bins for this, the problem is to track those.

As those are tracked by the capacity of the bins in m3 (regardless how full they are at shipping), while construction waste is tracked by actual weight in kg.

Thank you.

We were advised that it is considered construction waste if generated on the site, but I would also be curious to hear how others have handled this.

I would agree, that it should be included.  Although this type of waste is not typical C&D waste, it was generated onsite, which the credit is intended to address.  Depending on what the waste of the workers is, there is opportunity for recycling/diversion.

GBCI has instructed us to include it in our waste calculations, so we include this type of waste. I agree with Amanda and Tiffany.
