We are working on a large scale City Garage project targeting LEED Silver certification. We are considering rainwater harvesting and using it to meet the demands of truck washing. A couple of questions here -
1. Does this qualify for WEc2? It certainly reduces potable water usage. (The project has space limitations and cannot accomodate Stormwater Quantity Control requirements, so SSc6.1 is out of the question.)
2. Is the water used for truck washing considered a process load? (Definition of process load includes water used for industrial uses, so probably yes?) Any idea if this is a good candidate for an Innovation credit?
Thanks!

Pournamasi, process water isn't included in WEc2. You could look at it under WEc3. See this FAQ: Can I include process water savings in order to earn an Exemplary Performance point?

Hi Tristan -
I am unable to find in the credit language where process water is not included in WEc2. I similarly have an LRT maintenance service facility (MSF) that is collecting, filtering and recycling 85% of its trainwash process water to be used again for the trainwash (the water will not be used in for flushing or irrigation). I am wondering if this will satisfy WEc2 Option 1 by reducing potable water use by at least 50%?
Thanks in advance!
