I am having difficulty finding how to advise design teams to seek credit for using products with EPDs under Pilot Credits. TOTO has invested heavily in having these EPDs certified so that they can be used to qualify for points under the MR credits in LEED V4. Now that LEED V4 has been postponed our investment seems to have been premature and our leadership in the plumbing fixture industry has been devalued. I would appreciate any help available to advise the design teams wanting to use our EPDs in their LEED projects under LEED 2009.

Gunnar, that sounds extremely frustrating! But, assuming your EPDs comply with the v4 requirements, you have actually put yourself in a highly competitive place by investing early. Project teams are often not pursuing these credits specifically because they have a perception that the documents aren't available. As I understand it, to get these points under v2009, project teams simply need to let GBCI know they are pursuing points under this alternative compliance path, and then submit the documentation just as they would for v4. USGBC has stated that all of the new MR credits (though not all of the OPTIONS under each of these credits) have been achieved by v2009 projects, so this is definitely doable.
