Core & Shell or Healthcare situation

If a building will be constructed to be leased for hospital purposes to an unknown medical operator, it is possible tu apply for a Core & Shell certification instead of Healthcare? Please take into account that interior spaces distribution is unknown and will be held by the tenant medical operator.

Katherine, project teams have a fair amount of discretion to choose the most appropriate LEED rating system. In this case, I would want to know more about your project scope in order to make a suggestion. If it is indeed fairly minimal and the core and shell won't have many "healthcare" features, Core and Shell may be more appropriate. However, I would review the Healthcare system and see that you aren't missing opportunities for higher levels of innovation and performance by not using those credits.
