the existing LEED Gold certified building is 27,314 sf and the proposed addition would be 2,100 sf. The only alteration work would be connection doors between the existing and the addition, extending existing M&E, and greening part of the existing roof. If nothing was pursued, what would happen to the current LEED status? Would it stand as is? If LEED -EBOM was pursued under the new 2009 point system, and say ended up with silver, would the whole building then be lowered to silver rating instead of gold?
A LEED-NC rating isn't changed after the fact—at least it hasn't been in the past and wouldn't be in a situation like this. The LEED-EBOM rating would simply be a separate rating, under the separate system.
Hello all,
I am having the same question here, since we are working on an industrial facility project that has a building that is looking for the NC system and the master plan includes several future additions (about 4 in a long term period). If the first building is certified as NC, can the next addition + the first building be certified as major renovation or NC? Is it acceptable to re-certify a project that has a portion that is already certified? and if so, should we repeat this process for each addition? We cannot certify each addition as an individual project because they will share entrance and all the additions will share spaces with the previous building.
I know this post is from 2010, but i would like to know if someone had the same problem and how they could solve it.
Thank you in advance!
Rosamaría, as this is an older forum, I would recommend posting your question to our MPR3 forum, which is more current. Thanks!
Thank you Tristan! I will do that.
