CS-v4 MPR2:Must use reasonable LEED boundaries

Certify a utility building without any occupands or occupied space

Hi all,

We are developing a new utility building that serves several (existing and new) buildings. The new building(s) will be developed as separate projects with separate timelines.

Is it possible to certify the building and what scheme would be appropriate?

Janine, yes, a non-occupied building can be certified. Most likely you want to use the rating system that is most appropriate to the project, most likely in this case LEED BD+C.  Some prereqs and credits have specific eligibility around occupancy. See the subsection on "Occupancy" in the intro section of the LEED BD+C Reference Guide (page 16 in the PDF version I'm looking at).
