NC-v4 MRc1:Building life-cycle impact reduction

Building reuse, as part of a larger project.

Our project is reusing a non-historic, un-abandoned building, as part of a much larger project. We are looking at Option 3, but just to clarify, the percent of reused surface area of the existing building is calculated relative to surface of the ENTIRE project, correct? As opposed to relative only to itself?  Thanks!

Erica, can you clarify.... what does the LEED project boundary encompass, as far as new and reused buildings? I would say the answer to your question is yes, but I'd like to clarify that I understand correctly. thanks.

There are 3 existing buildings, and one empty lot, in a dense urban area. One of the three buildings will be reused. The other 2 are not structurally sound and must be demolished. Two new buildings will be constructed, and an addition to the reused building built on the empty lot. Overall, the building to be reused is a relatively small percentage of the total project.    If we have to calculate the percentage relative to the whole project, I do not believe we would meet the 25% threshold.  But then I understand we could include it under MRc3.  thanks!

I would agree, if you're demolishing so much, and it's all in the LEED project boundary, you have an uphill sled on meeting the threshold.
