Hi All,
There is a building complex consisting of 2 office towers managed by the same property management company, which share the same chiller plant. Most of the electricity bills are split into 2 buildings, but not for the chiller plant bill. The whole chiller plant is billed in 1 single bill.
- Office building A (~40% loading on the chiller plant X)
- Office building B (~60% loading on the chiller plant X)
If we want to apply EBOM v4.1 for these 2 office buildings individually, can we break down the chiller plant energy consumption by the calculation methods as below?
Calculation Method 1
Following the ASHRAE energy audit level 2 standard and using Chiller Plant data logging from the Building Management System, the cooling load, chilled water temperature, flow rate, etc. of each building can be calculated. Hence, the chiller plant energy consumption can be estimated and justify the buildings' individual AC consumption. Can endorsed audit reports fulfill the credit?
Calculation Method 2
Both buildings are for the same use (office building) and have the same operation hours, and the occupancy ratio A:B is approximately 4:6. The chiller plant consumption can be estimated on a pro-rata basis. Can this calculation fulfill the credit?
Thank you very much.
