asphalt impregnated felt underlayment for under wood floor

off-gassing of asphalt impregnated felt underlayment for under wood floor. Does anyone have any documented info indicating problems with off-gassing of asphalt impregnated felt underlayment for under wood floor? I work for a GC that wants to go by the Specs as much as possible however I'm concerned with off-gassing for many reasons - one being that we'll have IAQ testing done & need good results from the 1st test. I also know how strong asphalt smells and concerned it'll affect the IAQ test. Anyone have info I can cite confirming my concerns and the need to provide a substitute? Project is part historic renovation and part new construction. Wood floors will be installed in both. Thanks, Debra

Debra, sorry, no experience on this, and it's not affected by this or any other LEED credit unfortunately, unless you're doing air-quality testing.
