Question: I am working on a new LEED-NC project in california that is using a modular/prefab construction type with mechanical systems that do not require permits via the T-24 code. The mechanical system is permitted using ASHRAE 90.1-2007 standards because it is prefabricated offsite. For the purpose of EAp2 and EAc1, can our project use ASHRAE 90.1 as the baseline for energy performance or do we have to use T-24 even though it is not the governing code for permit approvals? Any input is appreciated!

Lance, you can use ASHRAE 90.1 for this purpose.
