Does anyone knows if ASHRAE 55 is really a requirement for the credit? There is an clarification on CI v2.0 (issued June 17, 2011) that states about equipament efficiency indicated in ..."sections 2.4 (less ASHRAE Standard 55)"....
It is still considering the old E-Benchmark as it is a clarification to LEEC-CI v2.0, however I consider that would be the same for v2009. Besides that ASHRAE 55 is already required for IEQc7, so if a project do not comply with the standard, both credits are not elligible for the project. Does anyone had experience on that?

Juliana, maybe I am not understanding your question, but ASHRAE 55 is relevant to this credit. See the note on "hidden requirements" in the Bird's Eye View section above.

Tristan, I´m asking because there is an old Interpretation for ID v2.0 that exclude ASHRAE 55 from credit requirement, and it seems pretty reasonable that is excluded from v2009 too, as ASHRAE 55 is already a requirement in IEQ credits, so if we do not comply with ASHRAE 55, the project automatically looses both credits. Besides that I heard from a LEED consultant friend of mine that GBCI is accepting this credit without ASHRAE 55.
Do you know something about it?

ASHRAE 55 deals with Thermal Comfort and is not applicable for this credit. ASHRAE 90.1 would be applicable for projects going with option 2 - performance method.

ASHRAE 55 compliance is part of the Core Performance methodology outlined in Section 1.4 which is part of Option 1. ASHARE 55 compliance is required if you follow Option 1 as pointed out above. See Core Performance page 37.
