We are certifying a building for a City that has an ordinance stating "no smoking within 20 feet of building entrances" for all City property. The City representative is reluctant to put up a sign stating 25 feet, when the City's law says 20 feet. he doesn't have authority to change the rule.
Previously the City certified a City building (gold!) and if I am not mistaken the entrances are simply posted with "No Smoking". Is the 25 feet absolutely required to be on the sign? If we put up a sign stating "20 feet per City Ordinance" will that fail LEED review?
