We would appreciate clarification regarding the applicability of LEED v4/v4.1 Low-Emitting Materials requirements for concrete curing compounds used as part of cast-in-place concrete works.
Since curing compounds are applied directly onto poured concrete during construction and become part of the concrete work rather than an exposed interior finish material, our understanding is that such products may be considered outside the scope of Low-Emitting Materials evaluation, particularly where they are not exposed to occupied indoor air during building operation.
What is your take on the curing compounds used within poured concrete and other material like this?
