Clarification on Design Supply Air Temperature for Baseline model with both heating and cooling

Hello Everyone,

I’m working on an energy model for LEED compliance using ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Appendix G. For a baseline system that provides both cooling and heating (e.g., VAV with reheat), what should be the design supply air temperature to the zone?

Appendix G mentions:

  • For single-zone systems: supply air temperature is 20°F difference from the design room temperature.
  • For multi-zone systems: fixed values of 55°F for cooling and 95°F for heating.

My question:

  • If the baseline system is multi-zone VAV with reheat, do we strictly use 55°F and 95°F, or apply the 20°F difference rule based on room setpoints?
  • Any official interpretation or experience from reviewers would be helpful.

Thanks in advance!
