EQc Low Emitting Materials - butyl sealant that meets requirements

The subcontractor supplying the commercial kitchen equipment for a project included a sealant (Premier XtraBond 1500NS) in their submittal that is not compliant with the LEED EQc Low-Emitting Materials requirements. After looking through the UL Spot listings, I am unable to find a butyl sealant of any brand that meets the requirements. This is a caulkable non-skinning sealant that we use in between walk-in cooler/freezer panels to prevent air and moisture from passing through. Can anyone advise if this is an issue you’ve come across before, and if you have a recommendation on a product that would meet the EQc Low-Emitting Material requirements for sealants? I am not going to do the budget method. XtraBond 1500NS is manufactured by Premier Building Solutions for reference. I appreciate any help or advice. Thanks.

No one can get in touch with Innostar Solutions. There is no response to their inquiries via their online form, and every phone number I have tried to reach them on goes to voicemail, with no response.  Any other suggestions for a butyl sealant of any brand that is a caulkable non-skinning sealant that can be used in between walk-in cooler/freezer panels to prevent air and moisture from passing through?

Can you ask the subcontractor to supply a compliant product or ask them to ask a new supplier to get it tested?  MAS GREEN ContactBob Schmitter

It seems the kitchen equipment and this specific need for sealant could be treated like HVAC equipment for which there is an exception to not include it in the credit. It seems you have exhausted the option to find an alternate, which may not exist due to the performance requirements. Commercial kitchen equipment is also typically FF&E, and am guessing for your project it might fall into that category as well.  Might be worth reaching out to a LEED coach to ask.
