The subcontractor supplying the commercial kitchen equipment for a project included a sealant (Premier XtraBond 1500NS) in their submittal that is not compliant with the LEED EQc Low-Emitting Materials requirements. After looking through the UL Spot listings, I am unable to find a butyl sealant of any brand that meets the requirements. This is a caulkable non-skinning sealant that we use in between walk-in cooler/freezer panels to prevent air and moisture from passing through. Can anyone advise if this is an issue you’ve come across before, and if you have a recommendation on a product that would meet the EQc Low-Emitting Material requirements for sealants? I am not going to do the budget method. XtraBond 1500NS is manufactured by Premier Building Solutions for reference. I appreciate any help or advice. Thanks.
