Ok so I get a comment from the LEED reviewer asking for cutsheets of the lighting fixtures to back up the strategies I'm pursuing for the Lighting Quality section of this credit. I need to ask, why doesn't the LEED Online form for this credit ask for the backup documentations right from the start??? All they ask for in the form is the interior lighting calculator!! I mean if we do need backup documentation for the calculator then say so in the LEED Online form!
Has anyone had the same comment or do you already provide backup cutsheets from the get-go?

I have some of the same frustrations with LEED reviewers, there have been projects where I have had to provide every cut sheet for every fixture including furniture vendor provided table lamps as well as marked up drawings indicating what we are classifying as multi occupant vs single occupant and how the controls comply for the project and then on other projects we get the points for lighting control no questions asked. It is similar to your local code authority reviewers, some are more demanding than others.

Hi Edgar,
I'm glad you posted this because it follows an internal conversation that we recently had. We have always uploaded the cutsheets, but we have been doing this a long time and it used to be a requirement. I've noticed that this upload along with others are no longer explicitly required. We continue to upload but wonder whether we should be. What are others doing?

Hello all.
I understand the frustration. I seem to remember that v3 Forms prompted you for all required uploads, but this is not the case with v4. For this reason I always caution my Team to check the "Required Documentation" at each credit in the Reference Guide. The Interior lighting is especially tricky in v4 (much better in v4.1) - but it's important to note that both require the "Table of Occupied Spaces" and "Lighting Details" - the details needed will vary depending upon the strategies you are pursing. The requirements ask for the Manufacturer and Model but I have always included the fixture cut sheets and highlight the compliant data to eliminate any doubt or confusion.

I agree with all the comments here. To add to the suggestions above, besides looking at the required documentation under every credit in the Reference Guide, another good resource are the 'submittal tips' that the review team has developed to help clarify some of the requirements. Here are the tips for the interior lighting, which suggest that cutsheets should be provided for certain options. https://www.usgbc.org/credits/new-construction-schools-new-construction-data-centers-new-construction-warehouse-and-distri?view=resources&return=/credits/New%20Construction/v4. Hoping this helps.
