We are working on an office building 17 meters wide, on one floor, the layout is a 3.5-meter distribution corridor, serving as a division between two rows of offices. These offices are equipped with mechanical ventilation, air conditioning, and windows facing the outside on both sides.

Local regulations do not require that these spaces be ventilated. But is it mandatory for Ashrae?

Considering ASHRAE 62.1 guidelines, which state that interior rooms can be ventilated through adjoining rooms, and given that the corridor has openings to the offices that account for more than 8% of the area of the interior room.

Would it be justifiable for the distribution corridor to utilize adjoining rooms, such as the surrounding offices, for natural ventilation purposes without having to install other equipment or systems in the corridor?
