CI-v4 EAc2:Optimize energy performance

Need to clarify about energy simulation

Hi all, On one of our project having 8 floor that was occupied under only with fourth storey which has undergone with system 8 for Energy simulation. In this case, I need guidance on whether we should take into account all 8 floors or just the fourth story when simulating the energy use of the entire building.

You only need to model the tenant space. There is specific guidance for how to model the tenant space with central systems in the LEED Reference Guide.

Hi Marcus, I am looking through LEED ID+C V4 reference guide and I am not able find the guidelines on how should I model my proposed HVAC system as well as Baseline, could you point me in the right direction?   Thanks!   Rajat Wadhwa

Look under the Further Explanation section. Do you have a hard copy or the online version? I always use the online version as it is always up-to-date. The proposed gets modeled as designed. If there are base building HVAC elements then see the section called - Contribution of Base Building HVAC and Service Water-Heating Systems. For the baseline see the section titled - Building the Baseline Energy Model. All of this is in the Minimum Energy Performance prerequisite, not the Optimize Energy Performance credit.
