Hi, Andrea. Strategies that (1) don't create high-hazard conditions and (2) use less glass and then (3) treat surface 1 (exterior face) of glazing with visual signals (patterns recognizable by birds in flight) have the greatest impact in reducing bird collisions on a project. I recommend you read American Bird Conservancy Bird-Friendly Design Guide for tips. (https://abcbirds.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/Bird-friendly-Building-Guide_LINKS.pdf) Thanks!

Greetings Andrea, By choosing opaque systems you can reduce your overall BCTR significantly. Then balance glazing with fritted patterns.  For instance, our glazing without fritted patterns has a threat factor of 100. While glazing our with fritted paterns has a threat factor of 25. Begin by adjusting the opaque to glazing ratio, then target glazing with fritting until you reach your targeted Total Building "BTCR".
