Hi everyone!
We are working on a LEED v4 New Construction certification of a mall. Renovation only applies to the building, but not to the surrounding parking. Nevertheless, on these parking srfs there are materials being stored and construction vehicles coming in and out of the site. Project is set on a natural environment, away from any urbanization. Perimeter can be divided into two types: front one along with roadway and back one against a cliff. The roadway is a meter above parking area, so there's a built wall that separates site from road.
Our main doubt is if, under these circumstances, we need to apply perimeter control measures. Or, instead, we could apply perimeter control ONLY to the building perimeter.
Thanks for your time!

hi Victoria,
The intent of the perimeter control measure is to prevent sediment from being washed off the site by rainwater. So if the only dust and sediment being generated is within the building footprint, you could establish the perimeter control at the building perimeter. Vehicles tracking dirt out of the building footprint is a potential concern, so you would have to consider how to handle that if there is no perimeter control around the vehicle area.
The Minnesota stormwater manual has some good illustrations and explanations of where you may need perimeter control, and which type is appropriate for which area: https://stormwater.pca.state.mn.us/index.php?title=Sediment_control_prac...
