Hi - we have a multi level office building - the proposal is to have sub metering of energy uses to each floor ie- heating, chilled water for cooling but to sub meter lighting and receptacle loads together on a per floor basis - together or separately these are expected to be >10% of the energy use on each floor - is it accepted to sub meter lighting and receptacle plug loads together or do they have to be metered separately ?
thank you

The requirement in CI is to submeter each tenant. So the system should have the capacity to do so. SInce lighting and equipment are both electric they can be lumped together.

Marcus, but if they are going for Option 2 Advanced Metering what about "any individual energy end uses that represent 10% or more of the total annual consumption of the tenant space"? If lighting (or receptacle loads) is above 10%, then it needs to be separately metered, correct?

Correct for the second point and if either one is greater than 10% they have to be separately metered and connot be metered together.
